Edgar Wright brought Michael Cera (how is his name first on the list) Anna Kendrick and Jason Schwartzman to talk about the Scott Pilgrim movie at the Apple store in SoHo. It was good fun, and I got to see a few scenes from the movie not in the trailer. For the record they make me giddy as a school boy. The whole thing was apparently recorded as a podcast, so it will be available later…more info later.

Edgar Wright Talks Scott Pilgrim @ Apple SoHo; I’m a Giddy School Boy
Tuesday, August 3rd, 2010A Video Postcard of EVO 2010
Thursday, July 15th, 2010EVO 2010 from richhhard on Vimeo.
Las Vegas, Nevada 2010 — EVO 2010 took place at Cesar’s Palace, a fancy pants casino and hotel in Las Nevada, where thousands of fighting game fans attended the annual tournament hosted by Shoryuken.com. For three days, players competed across several games including Super Street Fighter 4, all trying to get out of their pools. I, while waiting for my turn, shot some b-roll around the ballroom, aided by friend Ray, who also filmed with my other camera. What you see here is a collection of footage gathered in two days: the start of the tourney and the end of the tourney. Highlights include Daigo signing his autograph on a lady’s chest at the Madcatz booth, sitting and filming amongst the crowd, and capturing the intense, exciting moments near the stage during the Super Street Fighter 4 grand finals.
Shot with Canon 5D Mark ii and T2i. Music provided by the legendary Neil Young “Heart of Gold” from Harvest Moon. Graded in Magic Bullets using a custom grade based on the Blockbuster effect.
Special thanks to Ray, Mark, Toshi, Terry, Jayson, Mike, Anthony, Ramin, Nima, Neidel.

Monday, July 12th, 2010EVO 2010 happened this weekend…along with some other thing. There were upsets, beat downs, and come backs. With so many major players, top 32 was amazingly brutal, with so many talented players moving on or going home.
Gamerbee from Taiwan was this years big surprise for sure, taking Adon to top 8, and sending the US champ Justin Wong home. He played so crispy and aggressive. Nothing but smart play and showing that his wins were not a fluke. Gamerbee made JWong actually look desperate, and was undoubtedly the highlight of the tournament. This elimination however seemed to clear the way for Daigo to take home first place unchallenged.
The coverage this year was really great. The only real issue was the stream dieing during the last match of the final set between Nor Cal’s Ricky Ortiz and Daigo. Thankfully, Level Up Series has made them available on youtube, at least for now. The internets could not handle the hype as the stream reached 30,000 viewers, almost 3x that of last year. Congratulations to the EVO staff for running a roughly 1800 man bracket and finishing on schedule! I hope I can make it out to EVO one year!
Thanks to Kineda for the great pictures, to see more check him out here.

Saturday, May 1st, 2010Daigo vs Justin: Super Exhibition
Monday, April 26th, 2010The photo finish is almost too much to believe! Daigo’s Guy was really fun to watch, and a bit of an eye opener. Is Guile really his new main? Is he pulling this low tier favorite out from the depths, or was this just for the exhibition match?
Evo 2010 is going to be PLATANAS*

Aim for the TOP!!! Spring Fighter Tournament and Countdown SSFIV!
Wednesday, April 21st, 2010
I just grabbed 3rd place at the NYU Game Center Spring Fighter Tournament! So, its been ages I know, but I haven’t really been playing. Its not that I dislike the game, but work, and a lack of lobbies to play with friends really hurt things a bit. Other multiplayer games came out with full on lobbies for me and my friends to group up and play together. My practice and dedication faded along with my execution; this made it brutal to go back to G1 and try to scrape wins together. (more…)
